On one of Leary's trips to India, he brought 9 English translations of the Tao Te Ching and spent an afternoon each day with each verse contemplating the meaning through his psychedelic lens and concentrating his understanding into this translation. President Richard Nixon once described Leary as "the most dangerous man in America." Unfortunately this translation/interpretation of the Tao Te Ching doesn’t meet that standard. It’s amusing, useful in certain unusual circumstances, but not very insightful with ordinary consciousness.
