By Atisha
Joining in the slogan-communicating tradition of Balthasar Gracian, Ben Franklin, Sakya Pandita, Erasmus, Yang Xiung as well as the Buddha’s Dhammapada; these famous instructions were brought to Tibet by Atisha, condensed and written down by Geshe Chekawa. The foundation of the Kadam school of Tibetan Buddhism, these teachings explicate a kind of mind training that undermines our belief in “me first” and helps us reverse this tendency by putting others ahead of our our selfish, ego-clinging habits.
